Ascendas Shanghai Co Ltd was established in October 2000 to spearhead the company's expansion in China. Ascendas introduced the concept of business space solutions to China's real estate industry, extending beyond the traditional asset developer focus to the three-dimensional provider of physical, networking and virtual space.

Our presence in China began in 1995 as the former JTC International, which was part of a Singapore consortium spearheading the development of the Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP). Under the JTCi identity, Ascendas pioneered ready-built facilities within the SIP. We also introduced the one-stop concept of providing world-class industrial infrastructure coupled with professional management services.
